Quality Management
Why quality management is the foundation of your success
Quality is often not given the prominence it should have on a project but making this your first priority will help guarantee your delivery success. To set yourself apart from the rest, like risk management, manage quality on a daily basis.
1. Ensure everybody on the team understands that quality is the priority. This is not at the expense of time and cost but does ensure everybody is aiming for the goal of the final product meeting the customers' expectations. This can imply periodically reviewing the specification you are working to or returning to the customer for a reappraisal of their requirements.
2. The controls needed to ensure 'Quality' is kept on track are Configuration management, i.e. the specification of the product being delivered and Change management, the analysis of proposed changes to the final product.
3. Get to know your customer, what's important to them and why the product is specified the way it is.
